The 4x4 drive Terberg RT223/283/323 RoRo tractors with Ergoturn® 180° swivelling seat are designed for operating on RoRo vessels with steep ramps and in industrial yards due to their robust design and powerful driveline.
A 4x2 drive model (TT223) is available for applications that do not require 4x4 drive and do require a 180° swivelling seat.
The DT series is a low entry and low cabin distribution tractor. Within distribution centres drivers often need to step in and out of the cabin; with the DT the cabin floor is only 0.5 metres from the ground. The low entry combined with doors on the right and left hand side afford an efficient and comfortable working environment.
The low noise and vibration level in the cabin also significantly improves the driver's working conditions. Total train weight (GCW) up to 75 tons, fifth wheel load up to 36 tons.
The Terberg Body Carrier excels at shunting swap bodies at distribution centres due to its agility and small turning circle. It can also be used for applications such as carrying de-icing fluid containers at airports.
The design accommodates a range of swap body types and there are several options for locking the bodies to the vehicle. BC units can be fitted with a lifting fifth wheel to handle semitrailers.
This next generation Electric Body Carrier offers enhanced driver comfort, durability, and maintainability. The performance of the new electric motor is similar to that of a diesel engine, and it does not lead to CO2 and NOx emissions at the point of use.
In addition the driver experiences hardly any vibrations and noise. The new batteries have been thoroughly tested and certified to the ECE-R100 rev. 3 regulation. The universal charging connector complies with the CCS2.0 automotive standard. The EV drive has regenerative braking to reduce the energy consumption and this also reduces wear on the brakes. The EV system has fewer moving parts than a diesel engine and the previous EV generation, resulting in low maintenance costs.
Compared to a Yard Tractor, a Container Carrier does not have a fifth wheel, the chassis is longer and higher with a hook lift for containers. The TT and RT series has an option for a stronger front axle to be fitted.
To maximise the effectiveness of recycling centres the Terberg tractor can provide an efficient solution for handling open-top and ACTS containers. The robust design of our vehicles is a real advantage in these operating environments.
The RR Road/Rail tractors were developed in conjunction with Zagro, a perfect example of joint development companies with complementary expertise. These units can be supplied for track gauges from 1.435 to 1.676 metres. The advantages of the RR283 are the tight turning circle on roads, a high GCW and wide availability of spares.
If the rail tracks are set into a paved surface on your site then our conventional tractors can also be used for shunting rail wagons.
